What's the difference between Subscription and Perpetual?

Perpetual
You can use the software for life but beside the first complementary 90 days Maintenance you have to buy the Maintenance on a yearly bases (see the 'Maintenance' Product).

Subscription
You rent the software on a yearly basis with automatic renewal unless you cancel the subscription. Maintenance is included for the same period.

See the chapter 'What is the maintenance product?' for more information on Maintenance.

So which one should I choose?

Perpetual
If you have strong feelings about the fact that you want to own the software you should buy a Perpetual license. The first investment is higher than a Subscription license but you can use the software as long as you wish. The drawback is that if you want to keep the software up-to-date and receive Support, you have to buy a 'Maintenance' license. Don't forget that the first 90 day's is free when you buy the Perpetual license.

Subscription
When you are on an annual budget the Subscription license would be a better choice because the first investment is smaller than that of a Perpetual license and you know exactly what you can expect each year. You also do not need to worry for variable costs like support and new versions because they are all included with the Subscription license. For an annual fee you will be set for life.
